Working from a completely blank slate with new construction was an opportunity that is not very common, however, presents the designer with all sorts of challenges dealing with almost half an acre. There were two primary considerations for this design, first no lawn, secondly create all-season interest without wasting water. The result is a stunning strolling garden with a varied selection of conifers, deciduous trees, shrubs, and groundcovers. Serpentine decomposed granite paths contrast with black basalt edging while the viewer travels through the landscape revealing ever-changing views and spots for relaxation.
